Anika Todd’s work investigates Western principles of property that authorize human control of earth and sky. Reaching into the air and below the ground, Todd uses sculpture and video to reconfigure materials and imaging techniques historically used for surveillance and control of public space, repurposing them for collective and playful use. Todd earned a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an MFA from The University of Texas at Austin. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Flux Factory, VisArts Center, and Co-Lab Gallery. She has participated in residencies at Stove Works, NARS Foundation, and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and was a finalist for the 2022 NYFA Architecture/Environmental Structures/Design Award.
